    The role of the junior planner is to maximize sales and profit by developing sound merchandise plans that support Company goals for sales, turn and margin.

    • Technical skills including proficiency with Excel
    • Ideally experience in Homewares

    Primary Responsibilities:                                                                     

    • Supporting Senior Planner with smooth running of Homeware division, taking ownership of the Gifting and Entertaining Department – being able to independently see tasks through to completion unsupervised
    • Responsible for generating analysis to help support buying decisions
    • Monitor and evaluate sales of current styles on a weekly basis, partnering with the Buyer and Senior Planner to effectively manage receipts and inventory
    • Present sales and stock forecasting to Director in bi-weekly OTB meeting.
    • Identify inventory levels needed to support the rate of sale and the markdown strategy for a merchandise area based on sell-through percent, WOS, and planned product life span
    • Experience of using a WSSI – managing and reforecasting sales and intake weekly
    • Managing the markdown process  -  identifying lines to markdown while constantly reviewing need for further markdown spend through the sale period
    • Managing and progressing an Allocator and Assistant Planner
    • Implementing and exploiting new systems and processes
    • Managing product flow and range plans – setting up for new seasons, ensuring accurate at all times, highlighting key changes weekly, working with buying team to forecast new season product, and present in sign off.

    Education Requirement:   Bachelor's degree preferred
