  • Anthropologie - Trading Manager

    We are looking for a highly skilled Trading Manager that has high profile retail ecommerce experience gained in a transactional commerce environment.

    Reporting into the Senior Ecommerce manager you will be responsible for driving trade online across all categories maximising sales through improving conversion, whilst seeking out new opportunities to achieve consistent growth. This will all be achieved through commercial understanding of the product performance and digital analytics.

    Role & Responsibilities:


    • Focus on maximising sales & return on investment
    • Demand and order forecasting
    • Planning and forecasting for expansion and growth in new and existing territories
    • Build, manage and update product sales plans by category driven from historic analysis and strategic vision
    • Analyse overall performance and forecasts to review with Senior Ecommerce manager
    • Oversee the planning, briefing and execution of promotions


    • Proactively identify trading opportunities to improve and accelerate sales and profit performance for the Direct business in UK and EU markets
    • Create a plan that continuously improves conversion rate, product category performance and drives demand
    • Prepare and lead regular trade updates and feedback sessions to key partners in Buying,
    • Planning & Allocation and Ecommerce to identify opportunities and agree action plans for underperforming areas
    • Review previous weeks performance and propose and agree actions for the week
    • Provide weekly summaries of key performance indicators relating to sales, stock, profit, and markdown versus budget
    • Understand returns rates and investigate the reasons behind them, focusing on ways to reduce
    • Constantly review competitor communications and trade activity to support weekly trade decisions
    • Optimise the front end of the website; how products are presented within navigation within categories for optimal trading
    • Use Google Analytics to analyse sales, traffic and conversion, managing according to targets
    • Always look to optimise customer journey – utilise insights & analytics
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly hindsight decks, inclusive or trade, device metrics, site performance metrics and product reporting
    • Oversee Homepage and on-site search reporting

    Candidate Requirements:


    • Must come from a similar online merchandising/planning/trading background; experience within Retail Ecommerce
    • Strong google analytics knowledge
    • Confident in compiling sales reports and monitoring stock performance to make recommendations on action to drive sales and increase profit in the Ecommerce channel
    • Proven track record in influencing and impacting
    • Comfortable and experienced in presenting to senior management
    • A numbers person with an analytical mind
    • Strong problem-solving skills; expected to be able to identify creative solutions

    Knowledge & skills:

    • Ability to think and work effectively under pressure with excellent communication and planning skills
    • Self-motivated with ability to demonstrable problem solving
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Commercially astute with a focus on making the best decisions for the business and moving quickly to capitalise on opportunities
