  • JOB TITLE: Customs Coordinator

    REPORTS TO: Inbound Team Manager

    JOB PURPOSE:

    To apply customs related international trade knowledge and expertise (particularly in relation to duty management) in support of both our existing EU import volumes and future international exports. This is anticipated to include assisting in the preparation of commercial documents for international exports and provide support for international franchisee partners, to ensure timely and compliant entry of foreign shipments. To become a key member of the Inbound team, with specialist knowledge to advise and oversee all principle Customs regimes.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Working closely with the US Global compliance team on providing advice regarding classifications, valuations, duty reliefs, preferences, GSP etc.
    To support on the processing of CFSP imports (and all associated tasks).
    Assist the business in its application for and future ongoing maintenance of Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) accreditation.                                                                                  Ensure all HMRC Approvals & Authorisation are maintained.                                                Duty Planning – working with our designers/development/logistics teams to verify the tariff classification, duty rate and documentary requirements prior to order being placed to ensure accurate landed costs, whilst eliminating any risk of non-compliance.                                  Training of others across the business on HMRC Regimes, Processes & Procedures.        Role model URBN behaviours, values and standards. Write and maintain SOPs that are trained out and adhered to, with the aim of standardising processes and ensuring compliance across all associated functions (vendor base and buying teams).

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

    Knowledge of customs clearance checks/documentation. Experience in creating, checking and processing of all relevant importation documentation.

    Knowledge of Grosvenor International Systems – Ricardo duty management system would be an advantage.

     Experience involving shipments from Far East, Indian Sub-Continent and/or USA would be ideal.

    Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

    Strong communicator with a flexible and adaptable approach to new challenges. Someone who is not fazed by working in a fast paced, everchanging landscape.

    Organised with an eye for detail, who can prioritise and manage their own time and workload, as well as the workload of the team.

    Curious and tenacious with a ‘can do’ attitude
